After over an hour of painstaking dragonfly-stalking, I finally caught one. They are practically impossible to catch while they are flying, incidentally. Your only hope is to swoop the net down from above while they are resting on a leaf or reed.

We decided that the one I caught is a either a female or a juvenile male green darner.
